Anatek Labs, Inc. is approved by the EPA for the testing of drinking water under the UCMR2 program (Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Regulation 2, Rule 2, or Phase 2). Anatek is one of only a handful of laboratories approved for all 5 UCMR2 methods. Click the link Approved Labs to see EPA National Approved Labs List, page 3. The methods are very demanding and include analysis by HPLC/MS/MS and GC/MS/MS with detection limit requirements as low as 2 parts per trillion (ppt). Analysis for UCMR2 contaminants will begin in 2008 and last for 4 years. Systems required to test will be notified by the EPA and/or their State.
UCMR2 testing is divided into two lists. List 1, for all systems serving 10,000 or more, includes EPA methods 527 and 529. EPA 527 is the analysis of 2 pesticides and 5 polybrominated flame retardants. EPA 529 is the analysis of 3 explosives.
List 2, for all systems serving 100,000 or more, includes EPA methods 525.2, 535, and 521. EPA 521 is the analysis of 6 nitrosoamines, EPA 525.2 includes analysis of 3 acetamide herbicides, and EPA 535 is the analysis of 6 acetamide herbicide degradants.
