Anatek Labs, Inc. is a full service environmental analytical testing laboratory, established in 1992, with offices in Moscow, ID and Spokane, WA, and branch offices in Yakima and Wenatchee, WA.

Our mission is to provide precise and accurate analytical data and technical assistance to our clients in a timely and cost-effective manner. We test drinking water samples for community water services and private well customers, as well as water and environmental samples for environmental, industrial, and agricultural clients.

At Anatek Labs, we are proud of our reputation for analytical excellence, outstanding customer service, timely turn-around, and reasonable pricing. In addition to utilizing a wide range of established analytical methods, we have also developed many in-house methods for the analyses of unregulated chemical contaminants. Using powerful tools such as ICP-MS, GC/MS, HPLC and HPLC/MS/MS, we are able to screen for a wide range of unknown samples. Our experience and expertise have built our reputation as quality problem solvers.

Anatek Labs serves companies and water systems around the United States, in addition to providing services to customers and communities in Northern Idaho (Moscow, Lewiston, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Potlatch, Sandpoint, Grangeville, etc.) and Eastern Washington (Spokane, Cheney, Pullman, Colfax, Clarkston, Asotin, Rosalia, etc.).

Todd Taruscio, PhD

Moscow Laboratory Manager

Dr. Todd Taruscio serves as Laboratory Manager for Anatek Labs Moscow, where he provides overall operational oversight and scientific leadership. He earned his B.S. in Biochemistry (1989) and Ph.D. in Zoophysiology (1994) from Washington State University.

Todd joined Anatek Labs in 2006 after serving as Organic Group Leader at the University of Idaho Analytical Sciences Laboratory, bringing extensive expertise in analytical chemistry and laboratory management. In addition to his role as Lab Manager, he provides technical leadership across departments, serves as both internal and external technical support, and leads the evaluation and integration of new analytical technologies. As Technical Director for Organics, Todd is responsible for providing scientific vision and guidance, ensuring methodological rigor, innovation, and high-quality analytical services.

Justin Doty

Moscow Project Manager

Justin Doty serves as Project Manager at Anatek Labs Moscow, bringing more than 25 years of experience in administrative leadership and laboratory support. He plays a vital role in coordinating client services, streamlining communication between customers and laboratory teams, and ensuring efficient workflow across operations.

Justin regularly works and communicates with regulatory agencies, helping clients navigate compliance requirements with clarity and confidence. His attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to service excellence reflect Anatek Labs’ dedication to accuracy, timeliness, and trusted environmental analysis.

Niki Lee

Moscow Quality Assurance Officer

Niki serves as the Quality Assurance Officer at Anatek Labs Moscow, where she leads regulatory compliance, quality systems strengthening, and continuous improvement initiatives. With a PhD in Crop Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Niki brings a rigorous scientific foundation to laboratory quality management.

Drawing on over a decade of experience in applied research, data analysis, and program leadership, she integrates strong compliance oversight with practical, systems-oriented solutions that enhance accuracy, reliability, and service quality in environmental testing. Niki is passionate about fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability through continuous learning and operational improvement.

Kathy Sattler

Spokane Laboratory Manager

Kathy is an experienced laboratory professional with more than 20 years in analytical and microbiological testing. As Lab Director/Laboratory Manager at Anatek Labs Spokane, Yakima and Wenatchee, Kathy oversees full-service laboratory operations across all three locations, including staff training, method development, instrument troubleshooting, quality assurance, reporting, and client relations.

Her background includes leadership in microbiology supervision and public health laboratory work, with extensive experience in bacteriological water analysis and standard microbiological techniques. Kathy holds a B.S. in Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of Idaho. She is an active member of the American Water Works Association and the AWWA Inland Empire Subsection.

Avery Irwin

Spokane Quality Assurance Officer

Avery is the QA Officer at Anatek Labs Spokane, with over seven years of experience in environmental laboratories specializing in analytical testing and instrumentation. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Boise State University, with an emphasis in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Avery began her career performing wet chemistry and microbiological testing while supporting laboratory QA procedures, later expanding her expertise in asbestos analysis and advanced environmental testing.

In her current role, she oversees quality assurance, manages audits and corrective actions, coordinates accreditation and SOP documentation, and serves as Chemical Hygiene Officer, ensuring regulatory compliance and the integrity of laboratory results.

Brock Gerger

Spokane Project Manager

Brock is an analytical laboratory professional with progressive experience at Anatek Labs since 2017. He advanced from Lab Assistant to Chemist I and currently Project Manager. Brock brings extensive technical expertise in inorganic and wet chemistry analyses, including metals by ICP-MS (EPA 200.8 and 6020), Ion Chromatography, BOD, turbidity, pH, soil extractions, and microbiological testing.

In the Project Manager role at Anatek Labs Spokane, Brock oversees sample intake, client communication, data review, and project reporting while ensuring quality control compliance and efficient workflow through LIMS database management. He holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Idaho and combines strong analytical capabilities with comprehensive knowledge of laboratory operations and regulatory methods.

Rebecca Wilson

Spokane Operations Manager

Rebecca offers a unique perspective shaped by both technical and operational experience. She earned a B.S. degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from Eastern Washington University and began her career with Anatek Labs in 2012 as a Laboratory Analyst. After stepping away to focus on raising her two young children, she returned to Anatek Labs in 2025 to lead day-to-day operations.

In her current role as Operations Manager at Anatek Labs Spokane, Rebecca oversees laboratory operations, as well as human resources and marketing functions, with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and team development. She collaborates closely with the technical and quality teams to ensure the delivery of reliable, defensible analytical results that meet the highest industry standards.
